Yesterday Leah and I ventured to Greek Fest!
There was construction nearby and parking was a mess so we parked in one of the nearby lots and hopped on the Greek Fest shuttle. We were the only ones of the shuttle.. And we realized it was less than a km away. So we walked on the way back in less than 10 mins... oops. We do think the shuttle driver missed us though.
We ate, walked around, ate some more, and walked some more. The food was as expected -aka- fantastic!
1. Evening basketball, we haven't played in a while but it's become one of my favourite evening activities.
2. Taco salad/burrito bowl featuring a homemade Mexican rice.
3. My favourite non-dairy ice cream - seriously so good, you'd never know it is dairy-free.
4. IKEA magazine came in the mail, I absolutely love flipping through this catalog.
I've been loving the SUP, stand up paddle board, lately. It's so nice to be out on the lake with the sun beaming down on me, and it's easy to hop in the water and cool off, then hop right back on the board. Plus it's a good little workout!
Matt makes me wear a life jacket because he doesn't want to have to save me (although I can swim perfectly fine).
Up at the lake Matt and I love to go out on the sea doo after dinner just as the sun is setting.
We slowly put around the lake and enjoy the calm on the water.
It's such a nice way to relax at the end of the day.
Definitely one of my favourite things to do :)
My dad is officially retired!!
We surprised him with an ice cream cake saying 'Retirement is for Quitters - 35 yrs'.
And one final hurrah in the wind tunnel!
C O N G R A T S D A D !
Matt and I finally made it out to Stone Face Dolly's for dinner last week. We then learned they will no longer be open for dinner... so we're glad we got there in time. I had a chickpea curry and Matt had a jambalaya - both were fantastic!
Looks like we'll be going for brunch next time.... !
Matt and I both love this peanut Thai bowl that I make.
It's not hard to make but it does take some time. If it was quicker to make, we'd probably eat it every week.
Also once I realized how much peanut butter goes into the sauce... it made me rethink how often we eat it!
But it is delicious and I would highly recommend trying it out :)
Matt's favourite walk, and one I'm sure most people are tired of seeing - the Parliament buildings.
Here it is (again)!
Just enjoying the beautiful weather, in between all of the random thunderstorms,
by going for walks and soaking in the city. Happy Monday everyone!
1. Rainy days mean cozy sweaters.
2. Sushi and red wine - another rainy day favourite.
3. Zucchini noodles in olive oil, garlic, and red pepper flakes. Topped with leftover salmon.
4. Home workout on the rings!
My dad is retiring soon and his work threw him a BBQ. We surprised him and joined in on the BBQ!
He gave a great speech, and it was a lot of fun to be there!
Congrats dad on all of your hard work and accomplishments! You've been such an amazing
role model and I'm looking forward to seeing all the fun stuff you get up to upon retirement.
Only a couple weeks left - hope you enjoy it!!
