We spent our Thanksgiving Sunday relaxing,
enjoying the fire, and eating way too much.
I also made an apple pie!
We then spent our Monday with my family for Thanksgiving. I do not have any photos from Monday, as we had about 50 people and it was very, very busy.
Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!
This post is a little late but it's been a busy couple of weeks... here are some photos of Thanksgiving spent at the lake!
A few drone pics! The leaves hadn't fully changed but it was still beautiful.
Healthier homemade pumpkin bread, lots of tea, and some doodling!
I am so excited for October, I love the fall, and am looking forward to all the fun fall activities!
1. Hot chocolate and marshmallows!
2. Ruckus wondering if I will be sharing my snacks with him...
3. Roasted veggies for dinner, so simple but so so good.
4. Ugly looking but delicious sweet treat: medjool dates with peanut butter!
Summer can sometimes sneak back up on us after we think fall has arrived but, it really feels
like summer is gone for good. Here are a few snaps of my final days of summer!
Matt and I made it up the lake, I took a dip and Matt did a little fishing.
A walk through downtown Ottawa took us to the Museum of Nature, and a visit to our dinosaur friends.
I've had a great summer, and am definitely ready for the fall!
Although we've had tornado warnings before, I did not expect one to actually touch down. The damage from the tornado, microbursts, and the storm are devastating. Luckily, none of my family or friends have been injured, and their homes are safe. My heart goes out to those who suffered injuries or damage to their property. Power is still days away for some, but hopefully it can be restored sooner than later.
Matt and I took a quick stroll once the storm had passed, and the skies were beautiful.
Hope everyone is safe and doing well!
My eating habits the past few weeks have not been my usual meals/foods. I think with the slow transition to fall I am craving more hearty and comfort foods. Regardless of what I am eating, I still try and get green smoothies in a few times a week! I have a bunch of meals I am planning on making in the colder weather and can't wait!
1. One of my goals for September was to run a 10km... and I did it and it felt so good!
2. New Nike hoodie I picked up in Vancouver.
3. Sushi - for a surprise birthday dinner for my mom.
4. Beer and glass my dad picked ur for me at Nine Locks Brewery on Nova Scotia.
I don't always like craft beers but this one was great!
My parents were going camping at Bon Echo and I decided to join.
Even though it was very, very cold, I insisted on sleeping in a tent (I felt it necessary for the full experience).
The rain brought out the beautiful colours in the forest. And clearly, I didn't sleep so great in the tent...
We had a great time just hanging out and hiking.
So peaceful and relaxing!
After a trip, or a long weekend, no matter how healthy you are, it's always fun to get back into a routine and reset a little.
1. Steak, potatoes, and salad (all from farm Boy)!
2. Post run green smoothie.
3. 5km run in 25:27 - still have yet to hit under 25mins... so close!
4. Lots of veggies and scrambled eggs.
Mondays of a long weekend are the best bonus! I love spending mine relaxing, getting some fresh air, a workout in,
and doing whatever else I said I would do that weekend that seemed to slip through the cracks.
This past Monday I went to yoga, had a nice walk along the canal, an afternoon cider, and caught up on some reading.
It was a nice way to end the summer - even though the weather still feels like summer,
I think after the long weekend I start getting into fall mode!
