Over the weekend I watched a friend's dog - Molly! We met up with my friend Matt, and his dog, and went for a nice long walk along the water. It may not have been the warmest but, at least it was a sunny weekend :)
Friday night I headed to the Museum of Nature for an event, Nature Nocturne. It's an event they put on regularly, held Friday nights from 8pm-midnight. They have bars, dj's, a dance floor, and open multiple exhibits. The event is 19+ and people of all ages attend. I went with Heidi, a Danish girl who is currently living and working in Ottawa, and Liora, who brought a friend of hers, Kat.
The front section of the museum, where the glass is, is where the main dj and dance floor was!
My favourite was definitely the DINOSAURS!!!
We even ran into Matt Gour!!! Matt went to high school with Liora and I. We were good friends in high school but went to different universities and haven't seen each other much since. It was great to run into him and catch up :)
The night was a lot of fun, I would recommend this event to everyone!
This weekend I went for a short visit to Toronto. The short visit was mostly spent in Caroline's apartment as I got food poisoning the first night... here are the few pictures from the time I was actually able to make it outside ;)
This year St.Patrick's Day was spent with a couple green beers and a couple good friends. I met up with Lisa and Liora when they got off work and we headed to a bar on Elgin. We were lucky enough to get a table as the bar quickly filled up!
These were the final pictures from Halifax. It was a wonderful trip :) I know Leah and I both had a great time!
Our second stop on the road trip was Mahone Bay! Even smaller than Lunenburg but, slightly more lively :)
At our table was a jar with trivia cards! The trivia cards were probably from 1995, and we had a lot of fun reading them!
Our last stop on the mini road trip - OAK ISLAND!! Of course, it is private property, so we made it to the bridge... There is said to be buried treasure on this island as well as booby traps! Many have died trying to find the treasure. No treasure for us, but we both walked away without any damage.
We then headed back to the city after a day full of east coast fun :)
Saturday Leah and I rented a car and hit the highway for a mini road trip! After a few snags along the way, we made it to Lunenburg, NS. Lunenburg is a small colourful town along the coast. A popular spot in the summer, and we found out it is quite the opposite in the winter. The town was dead but, we still enjoyed exploring and were lucky enough to find a few open shops to look through :)
We had a few minutes of sun, a few minutes of blizzard and lots of wind!
The houses and shops were beautiful! Each was a different colour, and although we were there in winter, the bright colours were happy and cheerful :)
After a quick visit to this extremely creepy school, we hopped back in the car and headed to our next stop!
This post is coming to you from Halifax! I've been here since Thursday and have already had my fair share of fresh fish, harbour walks and wind blown hair. Today, I will post some pictures from Friday, when we spent the day roaming the city :)
Leah moved while I tried to do a panorama, so her face was a little distorted... but the rest of the photo is nice!
We were lucky enough to have the sun but no so lucky with the temperature... it was quite cold! We also sported our rubber boots as the city is covered in ice and as soon as it warms up, even a little, the ice begins to melt and the city is a bit of a mess.
