Today is my sister's birthday, and I want to take one more chance to wish her a very Happy Birthday. We all miss you so so much at home but, know that you're doing incredibly well in Europe. I am happy to see you stomping around Copenhagen, and we know Farfar is too. In honour of your new home, I posted a little CPH throwback, can't wait to visit..!
Hope you had a fantastic day!
For the past month i have been helping out with a local startup, Xpeeria. Two of my former coworkers from Gymtrack, including my boyfriend, are working there as developers. With the two of them, the founder, and myself, it has been a busy month. Tonight is the launch event we've all been working towards and I am incredibly excited!
Xpeeria is a marketplace for experiences. It gives everyday people the tools needed to make money doing what they love, with skills they already possess, and equipment they already have. Simultaneously, it opens up a world of opportunities and new experiences that are accessible to everyone.
To celebrate the launch, there is an event tonight featuring some very cool experiences. A few of the demos include sitting shotgun in a race car, mixing music with a DJ, song writing, sword fighting, making sushi, bluffing in poker, to name a few. The event is free to attend, and will be held from 6pm - 8pm at La Shoppe at Zibi. For more details, take a look at the event page: http://xpeerialife.pagecloud.com/xpeeriance
Hope to see some of you there!
Yesterday I attended a makeup event. It was the first one Canvas Event put on and hopefully not the last.
Hosted in a cool restaurant on Elgin, Common Eatery, I was welcomed with a glass of proseco and a great group of girls. A professional makeup artist gave a lesson on a model at the front, then came around and talked to each person individually. She made personal recommendations, with no hidden agenda to push products, it was a great learning experience. I booked through Xpeeria, and am hoping they'll be listing individual sessions soon. I'll let you know when the next event is, as I will definitely be there, and would love to see more of my friends out to join! Congrats to Canvas Event on their first event, always nice to see a great group of girls following their passions and becoming entrepreneurs!
These photos were taken earlier this summer with the drone above the Brockville Marina.
The rest of the photos can be found here: http://www.zonesix.ca/blog/brockville
As always, I am open to suggestions where to take the drone next!
A bunch of Ruckus, of course. A little test driving some cars, and some snaps from up at the lake.
It's already half way through September, and I can't believe it! Hope everyone is enjoying the slightly cooler weather, and the downpour I am currently listening to as I write this. A couple weeks left before jackets are out, lets try and enjoy it!
Matt's sister, Taylor, got a new Canon camera and we had some fun trying it out!
The photos turned out great, apart from the fact that we looked ridiculous in almost all of them... on purpose, of course.
Above, Taylor's first appearance on my blog! Clearly, she's quite excited about it.
Like I said, we (Matt) looked ridiculous in most of them.
Happy Wednesday, friends!
On the long weekend I went to a pig/corn roast up at the lake. It was so much fun and, of course, the food was delicious!
The inside was beautifully decorated with candles, lights, and fabric.
The night ended with a live band and lots of dancing!
Great job to everyone who put it on, it was a fantastic evening :)
I watched Ruckus very briefly the other day. And by watched, I mean took photos of him because he's so cute...
He's getting so big so fast!
He's still a little awkward pup but he's growing up!!
Frikadeller, Danish meatballs, has always been one of my favourite meals. My grandmother made the best frikadeller, and lately I was craving them. I tried making some, and they turned out quite well! Not nearly as great as my grandmothers but, I'll work on it. Paired with a fresh salad, it was a great dinner for a cool summer evening :)
