I've seen these delicious looking smoothie bowls on the internet and always wanted to try them out. I found a spot in Ottawa called The Blended Berry. They make smoothies, and bowls, which are essentially smoothies topped with tasty and healthy goodies.
The food truck in Little Italy is not open all year round. I realized it was the last weekend it was open, so Matt and I headed there with 20 minutes to spare before closing. We each got one, and they were everything I hoped they would be! Not to mention, extremely filling...
I will make sure to go next summer!
An entire post because, it was just that good. The other night Matt and I had a meeting run late, it was 7:30pm, we were in Lansdowne and pretty hangry, so we headed over to Joey's restaurant. I went for a yellowfin tuna salad, it was beautifully presented, and delicious. I would recommend it, and I will definitely find my way back to have it again!
Some fall drone shots from the Lanark Highlands!
Above you can see the K & P Trail. It's a trail running from Pembroke to Kingston which used to be where the train ran. It's now used mainly for ATVs and bikes. During the summer, Matt and I took a few trips with the ATV along it.

kale • spinach • mango
I have a new go-to green smoothie recipe. Crystal gave me some fresh kale from her garden, and since I don't like kale as is, I decided to throw it in a smoothie. I've tried a few variations, and they're all great. The basics are kale & mango. From there I usually add some honey for sweetness, a little protein, water, and spinach. It's fresh, tasty, and a great way to get in your greens. I definitely recommend you give it a try!
H a p p y F r i d a y !
Fall is such a beautiful time to take photos, the colours are beautiful! Here are some more from up near the lake :)
I need to get out and enjoy more of this weather. Before we know it, it will be dark, cold, and snowy.
Here's to enjoying the last few weeks of October!
For Thanksgiving Sunday we went up to the lake for dinner with Matt's family.
Taylor brought her new camera along and we headed to the sugarbush to take some fall photos.
Of course there were some pretty ridiculous photos but, we did end with a few nice ones as well.
Great job with the photos Taylor! I also have some on my camera I will share later.
Happy Thanksgiving, friends!
