December 25th is spent celebrating Christmas with my mom's side of the family - the Walker side!
Great job to my parents for making the turkey! And of course, it was transported in a Tuborg (Danish beer) case.
He may not officially be a 'Walker' but my Farfar (dad's father) is always included in family gatherings :)
A very merry Christmas from my crazy awesome family to yours!
Can you tell Leah and I were excited?!?
It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas... even though it may be over, we can still enjoy the season :)
Christmas with the Hansen clan, celebrating the night of the 24th in true Danish fashion.
Above we see the girls, and the boys -who were told to wear black shorts but
due to auto-correct, some showed up in black shirts...!
We made sugar potatoes, doing our best to make grandma proud!
Traditional Christmas dinner, and rice pudding for dessert. And Farfar loving the pork rinds!
After dinner we put on Danish Christmas Carols, held hands, and danced around the tree - my favourite part of the night.
A Chinese auction, and even more dessert finished off the night :)
I am referring to the photo shoot before we left our house for Christmas ;)
A few snaps from the family decorating our Christmas tree :)
Ornaments from the 60's, and still going strong!
And our Danish beer snow globes!
The other evening I decided to get some of my Christmas wrapping done!
This included a onesie and a beer, to really get into the Christmas spirit.
Not to brag but, I am pretty awesome at wrapping gifts!
Christmas is so close!!
We have an annual tradition to venture into the woods and cut down our Christmas tree.
Above we see Leah completely failing at trying to cut down a tree, and Crystal getting in the
final saw after I pretty much did all the work... ;) And my mom running away as the tree falls!
After we cut down our trees, we have a picnic by the side of the road with everyone who joined!
And look, a photo my brother actually made it into!!
Next up, time to decorate the tree!
I found out my front camera on my iPhone has a timer... uhoh... !!
And I am off to the USA for work!
Little stressed, seeing as Christmas is so close and I am not quite finished Christmas shopping.
Hopefully I can sneak a trip to the Mall of America in between work ;)
See ya in a week, Canada!
This morning I was up nice and early and decided to go for a run. The timing was pretty perfect, catching the end of the sunrise. Legs felt a little heavy from yesterday's deadlifts but as always, I am glad I went for the run.
Now it's time to pack, and get sorted for tomorrow's trip to the States.
