I finally decided to try a spin class. I had purchased a 5 class pack a little while back and hadn't gone yet. I woke up this morning with a random surge of inspiration and motivation, so I hurried out the door for the 8:30am class. Since it was my first class the instructor helped me set up bike, and went over some of the basics with me. I went to Spinco on Slater Street, and everyone was so welcoming and nice. I really didn't know what to expect...
Oh my goodness was it ever challenging! I consider myself to be in shape but this was so different, my legs were burning 5 mins in to the 50min class. It was upbeat, loud, and so much fun. It was a lot more of a HIIT style than I was expecting, big pushes followed by short rests, but I really enjoyed it. I burned 512 active calories (which I never do in a single workout), and my heart rate hit 197, according to my apple watch. All in all, I had fun and got in a killer workout. You definitely need to be ready to work hard if you're heading to a class. I'll for sure go again, but I think I need some rest for now...
This past weekend, I worked at Lululemon Friday, Saturday, and Sunday! It was busy but I still managed to take some time for myself :)
Saturday morning run! It was icy and slushy but worth it to enjoy the sun.
The first few runs I have been on this year have been extremely slow but for now, I am just happy to get out and get moving.
Sunday evening after work Matt and I decided to have a nice dinner. We had some prosecco, bbq Peri Peri chicken, roasted potatoes, and steamed broccoli.
It was a delicious dinner, and a great way to relax and unwind after a busy weekend.
I am taking this Monday pretty slow, and getting ready for another busy and productive week!
After work Saturday night Matt and I met at Queen Street Fare for dinner.
Queen Street Fare is the new, and only, food hall in Ottawa, located at Queen and O'Connor. I was so impressed with how cool it is!
There's some fun food options, and no garbages - everything is recyclable or compostable! Definitely recommend going, I will be going back for sure.
Sunday morning I went out for a run! The sun was out, and it was only -10 with the windchill, so the perfect day for a run.
The rest of my day has been spent cleaning, doing laundry, and just relaxing... :)
Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!
Matt and I made it out for our first skate of the season!
The conditions of the Rideau canal were really good, it was a mild day, and since it was a weekday, it wasn't very busy.
We had so much fun, and plan on heading out a lot more this season!
Although I am not a fan of winter running, the other day I was really feeling a run...!
I bundled up, and set out on a run. It was slippery, I was slow, and at a few points the cold air stung real bad. But, I loved it. I
managed to run 6km, and am so glad I did. Although I won't be out all the time, I might try and go a little more often.
Anyone else venturing out for a run this month?
Yesterday was mild enough to make it out for a short run.
I decided to get out before the freezing rain hit, and while there wasn't much snow on the ground.
It felt so so good to be running outside!

I went out for a 10km run and it was fantastic!
I figured it may be the last long run i get in this year, depending on the weather and when it decides to snow.

I helped my parents around the house, raking leaves and cleaning up the yard.
We had nachos for dinner, and I spent a great day hanging out with my mom.
Here's to hoping we get a little more sun this week...!
I started playing hockey again! Leah played on a team this summer with girls she played with in the past,
and I joined for the winter season. It has been so much fun, I absolutely love it!!
Since the weather has been so beautiful, I have been out running a ton. With the crisp air, and the leaves changing, I am trying to soak up all the fresh air I can. I'm still lifting weights but, definitely favouring a run over a weight session!
