Last night we had a homemade sushi night at Connie's place! While I was over I saw her dirndl, traditional German outfit, and just HAD to try it on. It was magical!! Now I want a dirndl! I wanted to run through meadows and yodel while wearing the outfit. The picture directly above is my creepy dead doll pose, I thought it was too funny not to post!
Homemade sushi was a success! It was quite the process, the rice alone had 5 or 6 different steps. I was a bit nervous about the raw fish, but 24hrs later and I haven't been sick, so I'd say it was fine. We had salmon, shrimp, tuna, avocado, mango, carrots, cucumbers and cream cheese, so many delicious combinations. I wasn't even sure that I liked sushi, but now I am definitely a fan. It was a long night... after we made and ate the first round (pictured above), we had extra ingredients so we made a second round, which we couldn't finish last night. Then it was clean up and straight home to bed for me! Next time we should start preparing earlier.. and I don't think next time will be for a while, it was a LOT of sushi!
