Brianna, Leah and I caught a train headed out to Hillerød to visit Frederiksborg Castle and have dinner with some family. This castle Seb and I had visited in February but we just walked though the gardens. This time we went in and explored the castle, as you can see from the pictures above. Our favourite room was definitely the grand ballroom, it is probably our favourite room in all the castles we visit!
Once the castle closed its doors we headed out to walk around the gardens. As mentioned above, these are the same gardens Seb and I walked around just a few months ago but now they are green and lively and water flows through the fountains. You could easily spend an entire afternoon wandering the gardens and the surrounding forest. I apologize if anyone is getting tired of all of my castle pics but I have so many I want to share it's difficult to even cut down to half to post on the blog!
After we finished exploring the castle and surrounding gardens we headed to Berit and Mad's house to have dinner with them and their daughter Marie. They also live in Hillerød, so it was just a quick walk over from the castle. Of course there were many things on our to do list in Copenhagen, and getting together with family is definitely top on that list! If you ask me exactly how we are related, that may take me a moment to have to think about it - all I know is that we're family. We were very busy for the few days that both Leah and Brianna were here but it was great to take a relaxing evening with wonderful company :)
