Saturday Connie's friend Wolfie was in town to visit! I met Wolfie when we went to Hamburg in July, he's a friend of Connie's from high school. Saturday afternoon/evening we headed to Tivoli to see the what they had done for Halloween, and it was, as expected, amazing! We got there around 4, which was possibly the worst time to go - so many people!! It also wasn't as scary as I had hoped for but, once the sun set, it was much scarier and a little less busy.
We stayed in Tivoli as long as we could bear the crowds, a couple of hours, then headed out to get some dinner.
For dinner we went to Papirøen, Copenhagen Street Food. It's a big warehouse that has been transformed to a dining hall. There are booths around the outside and tables on the inside. The booths offer all different types of food and drinks. From what I understood, the idea is to bring good, sustainable food to the centre of Copenhagen.
I had a fantastic stew and chips, and of course, a beer! It was a cozy atmosphere, we ended up staying after dinner for another beer. Connie and I were getting extremely warm, I thought it was because there was a bit spice in my stew, it took about 20mins to realize it was because we were sitting beside a huge fireplace...!
The location is right by my office, and right on the water. It's a great place, and I definitely want to go back and try out the other food stands! Sadly, Wolfie was only here for 48hrs, but I think he had a great visit! Between Tivoli, Papirøen and Thanksgiving dinner, it was a fantastic weekend :)
